Old guy joins the gang!
Hi guys!
My name's Roger and I've been playing 40k for about 15 years, with access to the following armies:
Space Wolves: around 5-6,000pts
Necrons: 4,000pts
Space Marines (White Panthers): about 5,000pts
Ravenwing: 2,500pts
Emperor's Children Chaos Space Marines: heading towards 3000pts, possibly already there!
13th Company: 2,250pt Wulfen army. No guns worth talking about, but lots of teeth and claws....
Eldar Harlequin Army: about 2,500pts.
Chaos Daemons: (just) about 1,000pts, but not really an army of interest for me. Daemonettes are for my Emperor's Kiddies.
Tau: upwards of 13-14,000pts (yeah, I like Tau). The army includes an AX-1-0 Tigershark, 2 Barracudas, 4 Tetras, 2 Piranha TX-42s, several Forgeworld battlesuits including the new XV9s, and a couple of Fusion Cannon turrets.
Like I said - I *like* my Tau.
I also have just decided to take the plunge into Warhammer Fantasy with a 3,000pt Warriors of Chaos list, but that is something for the future as many of the 40k listings above have not actually been fully painted yet.
I also play Aeronautica Imperialis, using (yeah you've guessed it) a Tau Kor'Vattra with 8 Barracudas, 2 Mantas, 2 Ax-1-0 Tigersharks, an AX-2-2 Tigershark mothership and two Remora Drone Fighters.
I also have a reasonable-sized British Commandos army (28mm) which has unfortunately only ever seen the battlefield once, due to the German Army player leaving these shores. I was using the Alternate40kWW2 rules found on the Yahoo Groups site, along with the army's Order of Battle.
Having been to the Centre twice now, I can safely say that it's extremely good. Going by names which have been mentioned there, I think I already know quite a few of you so I don't reckon I'll be stuck for a game!

Re: Old guy joins the gang!
Roger, can we start using jokes from Airplane? Who could forget this hilarious exchange;
Roger Murdock: Flight 2-0-9'er, you are cleared for take-off.
Captain Oveur: Roger!
Roger Murdock: Huh?
Tower voice: L.A. departure frequency, 123 point 9'er.
Captain Oveur: Roger!
Roger Murdock: Huh?
Victor Basta: Request vector, over.
Captain Oveur: What?
Tower voice: Flight 2-0-9'er cleared for vector 324.
Roger Murdock: We have clearance, Clarence.
Captain Oveur: Roger, Roger. What's our vector, Victor?
Tower voice: Tower's radio clearance, over!
Captain Oveur: That's Clarence Oveur. Over.
Tower voice: Over.
Captain Oveur: Roger.
Roger Murdock: Huh?
Tower voice: Roger, over!
Roger Murdock: What?
Captain Oveur: Huh?
Victor Basta: Who?
