I would be happy to dive in at some point and lead a squad of valiant terminators to their deaths. Though I will also be pretty involved with LotR as well.

‘Hidden Deep beneath the streets of Solaris City lurks the massive Cavern. From the centre of it’s Dark expanse rises a 120 metre high 1.5Km square plateau, Built by the star league Defence force in the Dim and distant past for an unknown purpose.

This unlikely artefact of mans ingenuity hosts one of the Inner sphere’s Premier Mech Combat events. The Brutal no hold’s barred Class 5 Circuit Match known as the Grinder. In the Grinder 24 Mech jocks Battle it out in teams of 4 for the converted Grinder trophy and the watching publics adoration.,,,’

Scenario

The Grinder is a Free for all arena match between 6 teams of 4 Mechs one from each class played on 6 map sheets

The Mech’s are selected from the 6 main factions in battletech and are ‘iconic’ for that faction, well as iconic as you can get in succession wars era tech, there’s not a hell of a lot of choice to be honest but they’re all classics also we were a bit limited by what we had painted in the right colours .

To ensure the match remains Free for all there is also a team of ‘House Robot’ Mercenary Mechs if it looks like players are teaming up and not trying to kill each other with sufficient zeal they will step in and ensure fair play by blowing the offenders up

Players start in a random light. When that’s dead they jump into a random medium, then to a random heavy, then to a random assault

You start in the Centre Hex of the symbol of the faction your Mech is part of facing in the direction of your choice.

Your Pilot is Gunnery skill 3 Piloting skill 3

You get points for kill shots 1 for a Light 2 for a Medium 3 for a Heavy and 4 for a Assault.

If your Mech is completely knackered (you are forced to withdraw) you can eject from it and get a new one but the points for the kill are given to the player who forced you to eject.

Player with the most points at the end wins the coveted Grinder.

was thinking for say 7 till midnight with say as many players as posible best would be six two per table as we are looking at say maybe to three tables

OK guys edited the SC knockout, its now down to 32 SC, so it will be faster and work now

also I aim to get this started at 18.00hr, giving the space hulk guys time to set up, i expect most games will laast 15-20 mins each, if not faster

I can bring two squads of deathwing if you want, I also have the termies from the space hulk set but they are unpainted

Edit: they are two identical squads of sergeant, power sword storm bolter, Assault cannon and three Power fist and storm bolters

THE FLIGHT OF THE MAJESTY, Y188

The Andromedan Invasion of Y188 was a masterpiece of strategic surprise. The empires of the Alpha Octant had been decimated by the fourteen-year General War between the Klingon-Lyran-Romulan Coalition and the Federation-Gorn-Hydran Alliance, which had only ended – or more accurately, ground to a halt through attrition – with the signing of the Second Organian Accords in Y185. The Andromedans, from their base in the Small Magellanic Cloud, launched their attack on the Alpha Octant just as the exhausted Coalition and Alliance forces were ‘beating swords into ploughshares’ – mothballing the fleets they could both no longer afford, and concentrating on economic redevelopment, the resumption of trade, and the rebuilding of hundreds of devastated worlds.

The Hydrans had suffered especially severely during the General War. After all, it was only thirty-five years prior to the beginning of the conflict that they had thrown off the yoke of Klingo-Lyran occupation, and many Hydrans who fought in the war still remembered the pain of their virtual enslavement during that period. When the General War began, they were caught off-guard by a fierce Klingo-Lyran assault on their homeworld, Hydra Prime. The psychological legacy of the past occupation led the Hydran high command to adopt a rigid ‘not a step back’ strategy; a strategy that led to the second capture and occupation of Hydra Prime, and the destruction of 80% of their fleet. The remaining 20% fled to the outer reaches of Hydran space – the Old Colonies – and began a bloody guerrilla war against the Lyrans (the Klingon forces shifted to the Federation front following the capture of Hydra Prime, leaving the Lyrans to hold Hydran space). Following a Federation-Gorn thrust towards Lyran space in Y181, the Lyran forces occupying Hydran space retreated to reinforce their own home fleet, and the Hydrans finally fought their way through to Hydra Prime from the Old Colonies through the line of battle stations that had been constructed by the Lyrans.

It is now Y188. The Hydran Empire, arguably the weakest military force in the Alpha Octant, becomes the focus of a lightning attack by the Andromedans. Within 24 hours, 73 Hydran warships, 43 orbital bases and 12 battle stations are destroyed by an enemy that utilizes technology and weapons systems unlike anything ever observed before in the Alpha Octant. Unable to consolidate their forces due to the complete surprise of the attack, the Hydran fleet is effectively destroyed in detail, in a vain attempt to once again defend Hydra Prime.
The Hydran battleship Majesty, conducting space trials far from Hydra Prime after a major refit, is overlooked by the Andromedans in the initial assault. Her veteran commander, remembering the lessons of the first and second occupations, decides not to rush to a suicidal defense of the capital. Rather, as he did before in the General War, he decides to make a run for the Old Colonies, issuing what went on to become a legendary order over subspace:

‘The Majesty is now Hydra Prime. All Hydran and Allied forces rendezvous on me’

But the Andromedans heard his order as well…

This is a scenario for Federation Commander; let me know who’s interested and we’ll go from there.

John, I can bring about 12-15 genestealers. My daughter kept them for her fantasy army.
