Hello from down south
Hi,
My name is James and I live in Drogheda.
I played a lot of RPGs and a bit of Warhammer about 20 years ago, but then fell out of it when I went to University due to lack of time.
Well recently I've been helping a young friend who's starting out in 40K, and I seem to have been sucked in too. I now have a fairly large army of Orks, and have been working on a secret plan to recreate the Squat race. I'm still a bit of a newbie to the current 40K game, though, and haven't fully got my head around the rules.
I'll be up your way on the 20th, and so hope to find someone to play a game with.
James

Hi James, glad to see you took my advice and signed up here, you'll find this board a bit more relaxed than TWF.
See you at Arkham on the 20th.

Cheers. I'll bring my Orks, though if anyone wants to introduce me to another game, that's cool too.
I'll post nearer the time.

Sorry this is a bit late, but I just want to thank everyone for making me feel welcome when I visited a couple of weeks ago. It was great to meet you all.
I will surely be back again, though my visits are likely to be infrequent.
In case anyone is interested in my Deff Knight project, here's how it's coming along - I'm undercoating today!

Looking forward to next time.

That's class-looking! There's something very satisfying about seeing the shiniest new kits being orkified.
Great work so far, make sure you keep posting pics as it progresses.

Re: Hello from down south
that is looking fantastic! Nearly wet my pants when you brought it up. Look forward to seeing you again.
Please do keep in touch with how this progresses.
In the meantime is it ok to put some of these photos up on our facebook? attribution via forum name or none if you wish. Its just too good a project not to share and much better than some of the conversions i have seen so far.

Dude, this is looking amazing, I love the way you've connected the Ork's and Deffknight's arms so it really looks like the pilot is directly controlling those monster grabbers! You should post it in its own thread in the "painting, modelling and converting" section so that more folks could get to realise what you're doing.
