Godfrey (aka Genoan)
Godfrey here,
First of all wishing two fellow BGAers (Gary and Tom) much success with the Arkham venture.
As to me, Ive been gaming for far too long. All varieties: computer games (Elite was an early favourite), RPGs (mainly fantasy style), CCGs (especially M:TG), card games and board games. These days I play really only card and board games. Im a member of BGA, and attend when I can, though distance is prohibitive. My boardgame collection is embarrassingly large. If I had to choose favourites then: Civilisation, 1830, Kremlin, Puerto Rico, Goa, Medici, Agricola, Le Havre, Chicago Express, Euphrat and Tigres, Acquire, Caylus, Age of Steam, Traders of Genoa, Ra, Modern Art, Princes of Florence, Taj Mahal, Notre Dame. I'll not go on. My favourite cardgame, possibly my favourite game, is Mu.
While I try to win when I play, it's firstly about social interaction. If the only enjoyment I got was in winning then I'd be a very unhappy person.
Delighted to see another venue supporting boardgaming. Good luck, Arkham. (If only you were a bit closer to home.)

Hey Godfrey.
No chance of you dropping in some time after opening to have a look? You never know, you could have a one-off BGA session at Arkham some Saturday and see how it goes.
Where are you based?

Hi Godfrey, a long time, unfortunately, since I got down to BGA. Good to see you posting here!
I hope to push the boardgames at Arkham and get my fix that way!
Hopefully, we can get you down at Arkham at some stage, at least for some of the bigger events...

Thanks Godfrey, I know you live a substantial distance away, but hopefully we can get you down at some stage. :)

My location..
...is Enniskillen.
When BGA was in Belfast, it was a long journey. Since the move to Bangor, its a very long journey.
Your location is even further, sadly. However, if I am visiting my folks, I could travel via M2, which would be a little easier.
One day, long long ago, the other members of BGA had a session over here in the West. Their journey is a thing of legend. Some of them still talk of the day they crossed the Bann.

I missed that trip. I am advised that boojum snarks start west of Lisburn.
