Gary (aka Meleth)
Hey everyone, just thought I'd sign up here, been hearing some good things about the gaming centre though I haven't been able to get up yet, currently living in Larne where it's not all that easy to get a game of 40k, but I'm part of a gaming group that meets in Carrick once a week.
Mostly playing 40k at the moment, working on my Eldar army and entering the fields of blood doubles tournament this year.

Coolio, you using Eldar at FoB then? I'm building a new SM army for it...well, an army I meant to build for a while, this is just a good motivator! Where is this club I hear of in Carrick? Mr D. Crowe's group?? I feel so left out, living in Carrick but 'blissfully' unaware of local gaming in the town...
:)

yep dave crowe is involved with the group though he isn't about as much anymore, we usually meet up at the church of the Nazarene in carrick now since they've very kindly allowed us to use the church once a week!
Hoping to use my Eldar for FoB but it's not looking like I'll get them painted in time so I may well end up using my Crimson Fists from last year.

Well he hasn't been up the last couple of weeks, but to be fair you did dump him out of the 40k tournament, Gary

Re: Gary (aka Meleth)
A warm welcome to the forums, Gary.
There is quite a contingent at Arkham that play 40K. I ran a loose and fast Apocalypse game on the opening day. Trevor and myself are organising a big apocalypse game 'Assault on Arkham 13' on 17 July.
We hope it is a big fun day for 40Kers and a good networking opportunity to find future opponents.

Thanks for the welcome, that apoc game sounds interesting, I have a warhound titan that's itching to be used!

As if there was another way to play Apoc! It's the least competitive-play centric thing I've ever seen from GW...lol
17th July? I may well try and get my Stompa painted...
Dave told me about that months ago, but I never got a chance to go any of the weeks he told me it was on... :( It's usually a Tuesday night, iirc, and I usually attend Slayers on a Tuesday.

I want to own a Revenant, but it's hard to justify the expense, especially when I'll likely never get around to painting it.

I could rent you my two year old as a revenant! getting her to stand still may be a problem though

They are very, very pretty, but that's true of a lot of Eldar models. I saw a post somewhere recently from a FW open day, looks like they've a resin Phantom in the pipeline too. Justifying the (at least) £600 they're likely to charge for it could be difficult though
If you're taking Rex down to the Apoc game, Gary, I'll have to come and see it in action! I'm in imminent danger of actually starting that *other* little project too. Have ordered a couple of bitz from the U.S. (£19 instead of £70, I think so!). No way it will be ready by July though
I'll have to speak to ask the rota guy at work nicely if he can ensure I'm not working the 17th. No guarantees though; he's a jerk.

Only if it comes fitted with Pulsars, and you don't mind me painting it during the opponent's movement phase...

Little eh? Yeah it'd be great for Rex to see some action at last! I was down at arkham today playing doubles game with my eldar, had a great time staff are very friendly and just a great relaxed atmosphere.
The forge world titans are lovely but really wallet burning, I bought my scratch built warhound Titan for a measly £60 from Jb.

Glad you had a great time on Monday bud although next time the dice gods may choose not to dump all over my Orks!
Had a great day myself.

I've one sitting in a Box unloved as i'm not an Apoc player mainly, and even less likely an Eldar one as i'd use my marines.
Also have a Cobra sitting next to it.
they may be sold on as I'm not using them.
Re: Gary (aka Meleth)
I'm disappointed in myself for being as interested as I am...lol
Still, I couldn't afford them before the winter. Holidays and whatnot.
