[ARKHAM EVENT] Fantasy mini-con - Sat 10th July 2010

To coincide with the release on Sat July 10th of the new Warhammer Fantasy rulebook we're proud to announce Arkham's first (of many) unique "Mini-Con" events.

Each mini-con will be themed (Fantasy, Sci-fi, Horror, WW2 etc) and will focus gaming activities of all types (TableTopWargaming, RPG, boardgames, CCG) around the theme of the day.

Our first mini-con on July 10th will of course be themed around Fantasy, and we're opening it up to anyone who wants the prestige of being among the first to host their own game at Arkham's first mini-con. Years from now, once we've dozens of these under our belt, you'll always be able to say you ran a game at the very first one!

We'll be expanding the concept of the Arkham Mini-Con to draw prestigious gamers and groups from further afield, and also play host to guests from some of the gaming world's most exciting suppliers, hopefully playtesting unreleased games and products.

For now we'd like to invite you to post below what fantasy based game you'd like to host on the day. We'll be able to cater for dozens of different games. Let's make this a day to remember and set the bar high for the next Arkham Mini-Con! Post the following information please;

Before the event, we'll gather all the submissions and schedule the games throughout the day.

If you know anyone who'd be interested in this who isn't already a member of the forum, please encourage them to register and participate. We want to re-invigorate the gaming scene in Northern Ireland but need your help to make it happen!

I will have to finish off my dwarf Army now. Oh noes!!

I have been talking to my mates and it looks like we are going to go for a road trip to visit on that date.

I don't think we will be able to host any games as none of us have any completed fantasy armies but I will bring up all the completed miniatures that I have.

Excellent, looking forward to welcoming you. If you're staying over, we'd recommend either Highways Hotel or Curran Court Hotel, both in Larne, only 5-10 mins away from Arkham.

I was thinking of running battleground fantasy card game
takes about 2 hours and plays out a bit like warhammer fantasy

Great stuff John, what's your minimum/maximum number of players?

its two and takes about 1-2 hours
it can be played with 4 max more but i'll only got two armies at this time
have to remember to order some more packs next time am up
i hope to have a field test up at the club before the big day

Could run a War of the Ring demo game. Maybe borrow some stuff from Mithrandir for it and have up to 3 per side. estimate 3 hrs so could run 2 sessions in the day.

maybe someone could run Warhammer Fantasty Roleplay (any version in the Morgue?) or any fantasy setting game?

Can also help out running the Warhammer games inbetween and depending on availability/demand. Anyone able to run a few boardgames? i know Trev has 'Descent'. there are a few others Settlers of Catan?

War of the Ring? Wonderful...will be great to see that played out. I'm sure Chris would relish being involved in that!

I'll be up on Wednesday hopefully with Pug, that's Mithrandir junior, who isn't so junior and can be named after the Rift War's legendary wizard as he reads enough of it.
There's no problem with Weeivor using any Ring kit I have, I'll be bringing what I can find on Wednesday, so we can sort through it then.
If all else fails I can fill the Catahoneycombs with a collosal city, an awful lot of greenskins and host of Ulthuan at short notice!! It's the staff you see - blinding...

Happy days, if they need a hand with any arm twisting activities let me know lol, been long time since I got playing an rpg even any wargaming, years even. Will be good to call round Saturday and get a few games in if possible hopefully warhammer rpg and whfb and get a look at whole arkham set up

I have a custom scenario written up for WFB, the battle for Hell Fenn (Vamps vs Empire/Dwarves (any good race tho), and I could easily bring about 3-4 k of Vampires up to run that if you wish. Also, I have a large Fallen Realms army, so if the WotR is a go ahead, il bring them too...

Is anyone travelling up from Belfast?

I will be up about 2pm, leaving Belfast 1ish. Going to bring 750 points of Gondor for War of the Ring. Hope to get a game and meet everyone.

Is there anyone who is travelling up from Belfast and wouldn't mind giving me a lift (there would be donations etc)

At this event we'll be taking photographs which may be used along with a feature on Arkham Gaming Centre in both Wargames Illustrated and White Dwarf. Please let staff know on the day if you have any objection to your photograph appearing in one the aforementioned magazines
