Hive Fleet Norn-Iron, Tyranid splinter fleet (The Dark Hunger)

A break-off splinter of Hive Fleet Leviathan, Hive Fleet Norn-Iron has struck up from the galactic south as part of the wide attack across the Imperium's southern rim. The fleet broke away from the majority of Leviathan and in less than a year had stripped the whole Mygrazian sector clean.

Easy to identify due to their yellow and black colouring (believed to be due to the consumption of the homeworld of the wasp-like Vespa-vulgas race and the race biomass, which has also resulted in a large proportion of poisonous mutations being used by the fleet) the typical tactics of the Hive fleet is overwhelming numbers of gaunts accompanied by rapid genestealer assaults from the side and behind. The genestealers of this hive fleet are remarkably close in connection to the Hive Fleet, creating speculation that the genestealers are not used for infiltration and scouting (as per usual Hive mind tactics) but as shock troops first and foremost, resulting in a relatively small number of hormigaunts used by the fleet

As of yet only small number of the tyranid organisms have been sighted on Helion IV, but it is feared that their presence is simply the vanguard for a large and powerful hive fleet approaching the world....

Going to sign up with My Dark Eldar, background to follow but safe to say the Dark Eldar motivations are raiding, slavery and general unpleasentness, My Archon is looking to capture some nid genestealers to throw in the arenas at Commoragh too I suspect Mike.

The endless tyranids of hive fleet behemoth will arrive to aid their long lost brethern of Norn-Iron.

My demi-god like presence will be felt on this Helion place, the loyal forces of the Imperium are on route(not sure yet exactly who this will be)

lord fennek of the iron warrriors larneien warband having missed out at arkham has dispatched a recon force of his trusted leutients and battle brothers to helion, whlist fennek himself gathers his forces, one of the ancient and battle worn thunderhawk gunships no longer run on fuel but the power of the forces of chaos makes head way towards helion with a nasty payload of iron and pa;gue warrior marines. followed by a transport version hawk with rhinoi transports. its only a matter of time before the loyalist forces on helion feel the warth of iron warriors and also father nurgles rot.

As the etheral rune images dance around Pav'lin Moonbright, Seer Supreme of the Kith'len Craftworld, a shiver passes over him. The shadow had gripped the future threads and unfortunately he saw no other option than to take action.

Nodding sadly he cast out to the Seer Council and bid them to gather the Exarches. The human colony may help in steming the advancing tide. It displeased him that his kin should side with the mon-keigh once more but the numbers of man may succeed in drawing the shadow's hunger.

Pav'lin thought to his brother, the Dire Avenger Exarch Bo'an, asking to take him to take Farseer Nuon and a small force to consult with the humans and offer their fighting skill.

Near the central Webway Gate Exarch Bo'an extends his spear, Vengence Grief, towards the Webway. Grav tanks and warrior's on foot move towards it's lightning shimmer, the hunger for battle growing with each step. Exarch Bo'an turns to gaze around the green hills of the biodeck. In his mind the Kith'len Aspect Shrines are awakening to war.

Bran Redmaws great company will be planet side in 3 Standard Terran weeks.

Stillness befitting a morgue filled the throne room. Long tapestry's and banners from many civilizations and races hung lifelessly from the walls, the gilted thread within then sparkling silently in the low light. A deep purple carpet edged in silver and black lead the way towards the throne upon the steps at the end of the room. Upon it he sat, slowly swirling a single chalice filled with green liquid and playing with the edge of the throne with his sharpened gauntleted finger tips. Behind the figure six fully armored warriors stand holding long two handed blades in poised stillness. Ready to move at the slightest motion.

The doors to the chamber slam open and send a wave of noise and force towards the Throne. A single female softly threads barefoot into the room. She halts for a second, her face concealed by a mix of shadow and her long flowing gray hair that dances just above the ground as she walks. As she draws closer the figure upon the Throne lifts his gaze from the floor to her. He smiles softly, a mix of curiosity and hate playing on his lips as he takes in her form. Behind her a chain is dragged with her right hand, its rattle and noise softened by the carpet she drags it upon. As she gracefully stops before the Throne no respect, care or fear is present in her crimson eyes. Nothing but hate and contempt for the figure on the throne is present. She yanks the chain and tosses the great head of a Bio organism towards the steps of the throne. It roles towards the figure before coming to a halt.

"I demand a challenge Vaslin. These petty animals you send my cult are nothing more than weeds for us to pluck from our garden. You promised me the greatest challenge i could..."

The figure lifts his hand slightly to silence the female. Slowly when she goes silent he smiles at her and takes a sip fro his chalice of poison. The acidic blood of his latest prey teasing his senses as he lowers the chalice to the arm of his throne once more.

"Within my chamber you with show me proper respect Oktobra. We may be equals on the field my sweet but within my walls you are nothing more than an honored guest."

"Equals? Do not praise yourself so highly. I could cut you down with but a single move."

The Archon swiftly stands from his throne in anger. His Huskblade drawn as if from nowhere and his guard already moving for the attack. The Succubus simply smiles and draws her own blades slowly in warning. A soft purr of excitement for the duel to come escaping her lips. Before they attack a phlegm filled guttural laugh fills the chamber. They both turn to regard the source of the sound. The floating teisted form of the Haemoculi and his huge malformed guard slowly enter the room. A stench like no other wafting before them. Both Archon and succubus snarl at the intrusion.

"Now now my chillldren. Do not play ssssso roughly with eaccch other. I come bearing giftsssss of great newsss for ussss all."

Both the duelist look at each other for a moment. They pause before reluctantly sheathing their weapons, the Archons guards returning to their position.

"It would ssseem that a challenge worthy of both your ssskillsss hasss presssented itsss ssself. The great devourer has sssspoted a collection of planetsss that ssseem ripe with life and food for itsss children. It isss filled with the lessser racesss fighting over it for their on childisssh and petty reasssonsss. Imagine the bounty to be had. Sssslavesss, arena challlengessss.... Tessst sssubjectsss..."

Scilence once again filled the room. The Haemonculi drifts closer to the pair. His aids carrying detialed reports on the biology of all the lesser races invloved. Their abilities, their goals, thier desires. The three plot their schemes and play thier games. None trust the other but all need each other to succeed.

Arkham sector shall be harvested.

In the darkest relm of tyranid space sat a kraken, one of the oldest hive ships.
In the statsis room of the hive ship, there the essence of the tyranid race slept.
it ghosted through space oblivious to the universe and the wars that raged in it.
Decades had passed since it had sensed another soul.

The hive mind stirred from its slumber.
A faint pulse pulled at it, a Narvhal scout ship calling out for a hive mind, Distress!
It sent a sychic spark back to silence the being, so it could return to its peaceful sleep.
At that moment the gate opened infront of the ship, a wormhole through the fabric of space.
Without any command the kraken entered the wormhole and emerged from the corridor of space in a distant system.
The hive mind was hit by the sychic scream of lesser races, a multitude of races were converging on a planet nearby.
Angered by this waking call, it burst from the stasis pod, commanding the kraken to head towards the planet.
Summoning to it all the other hive minds it could sense, to WAR!

To the rest of the scum of the universe, this hive mind has been called many things, the great devourer, the unending foe...

............................and now simply.....The Swarmlord.

The sacrifice shivered convulsed and finally exploded in a shower of visora and gore. In it's place stood a demonic projection of kharon, the black legions crusade fleet commander in all his corrupt magisty. Nero's heckles rose and with a sneer he spat vile toxin on an unsuspecting minion, who fled welping in agony. "your distain amuses me Nero" baited kharon " do you still hold me responsible for your fall from the warmasters grace. We used to be so close you and I" laughed kharon wickedly.

Nero thought back many years to the events that had brought him to this. The days that followed the planet killers demise and how his second in command kharon had distanced himself and pinned all responsibliy on his long time friend and leader, even rallying for his exicution. How the warmaster had looked apon his trusted and chosen protector of his most lethal asset, a look of disgust, anger even sadness at his most trusted brothers failings. Pity and demotion Abaddon chose, Nero would rather had a warriors exicution than pity.

Nero had fought in the sons of Horus / Luna wolves first company with abaddon for centuries was one of abandons first choice from the company to join the lodges, had fought beside Horus in the crusades and the heresy, stood side by side with abaddon on terra. These were the reasons he had been spared. And he hated himself for failing, shame and redemption drove him now. He would see that traitors bastard kharon dead and him restored to the warmasters right hand. But for now he had to be the mailed fist the warmasters fury and vengeance. He will succeed were so many had failed he would take hellion for the blacklegion he would burn the arkham system out of existence!

have we given up on this campaign? and going for horus now?

I can sense a popular theme with campaigns at Arkham beginning to emerge.

not sure, didnt help with the magic nuke hitting the club lol

but as it stands the nids are way out in the front, if mike rolls all the right dice your looking at the nids taking 18 tiles, chaos and the defender are looking at 3 each

The MTG campaign is going well at least Karl

MTG is probably going well since it's so little effort to bring a deck of cards along compared to cases of minatures! I did manage to best Mikes nids on Wednesday though, maybe slowing their invasion down a bit!

Problem is we had a lot o people sign up, but how many games were actually played?? Gary and i hammered through a number but some weeks it seemed like unless one of us was playing there was no 40k happening

Maybe having the campaign table and map etc. at Arkham, with a space to record results etc. would help encourage people to play their games? or have a drawn up format of who plays who every week, and you have to get your game done by a certain date?
