Already got the army list done to beta issue, but a few tiny tweaks still to be ironed out. Oh, and the revving noise in the background is the Devilfish being checked out by Support Drones at Bombardier.....
Now a little light reading reminder of the rulebook and Codex entries is in order, I think. Whoever said homework was a bore?

Hate the way I'm never on this!!!!!!!!!!
I might be pushing the boat out too far but any chance of a spare table?
I was the guy trying to start one in Halloween and I have been really busy lately.
If there is none, I am happy to accept defeat.
I'll just have to look forward to the next one (which I hope is soon)

So I'll be able to sneak a few hundred extra points of stuff into my list then ? Writing a legal army list is becoming another lost art, at the last 2 tournies I've run, half the lists have had errors, and half of those made them illegal.kwi wrote:On the day.
Again, any chance of you posting the entrants list?

Just a note to anyone coming tomorrow, we'll be taking orders for food and fetching from a local fish'n'chip shop. If you don't fancy chippy food please bring a packed lunch. Cheers

So far? The days been awesome. Unfortunatly we've had four drop outs at the last minute so the numbers have been lower than expected. Besides that its been a resounding success. The games havent finished up yet but im sure uncle Phil will post up the winner before the hours up!

Re: WARHAMMER 40K TOURNAMENT - "ASSAULT ON ARKHAM 2010" 10am-6pm Saturday 11th December 2010
Thanks to the Arkham crew for putting on a very enjoyable tournament. This was my first visit to AGC and I think that it's a great venue for gaming, and the guys put on an excellent event. Everything seemed to run very smoothly and I had 3 very enjoyable games. The organisers and players were friendly, the tables were very nice and had enough terrain, the prizes were fantastic, and the chippy lunch really hit the spot (hmmmm greasy).
My games went rediculously well. My opponents were all nice enough to roll terribly when I needed them to (maybe running over that cat on the way up proved a pleasing sacrifice to the dice gods), allowing my nasty (chaos) space wolf list to do bad things to their armies. Things started well when I siezed the initiative against Stuart's CSM. That's the first time I've ever managed to sieze in a game of 40K, and busting a near-invisible vindicator and dropping a daemon prince down a hole gave my chances a real boost. Stuart's shooting repeatedly bounced harmlessly off my mighty rhino and I was able to grab some objectives and whittle his (very pretty in a vomited inducing kinda way) army away (20-0).
Next up was Rowan and his version of what space wolves should be. I managed to to quickly kill his objective holding troops with a suicide rush, which meant he had to divert his killer thunderpuppy back towards his home objective. While my guys were dying hard, my other unkillable rhino repeatedly tankshocked his 2 long fang units until they took the huff and went home. The thunderwolves and their lord smashed up some more of my armour but I was eventually able to shoot them down (the last one falling into an unexpected hole in the ground). Despite a barrage of JotWW, my objective sitters were still hanging in there at the end (16-4).
Final round was against Scotty and his flat-faced, grey-skinned, gun-bunnies. Again the dice-gods were kind to me, while they chose to bend poor Scott over the table. We both reserved the majority of our forces (kill-points game) so the early exchanges were fairly non-eventful. It was when his battlesuits showed up that the excrement hit the air conditioning. The crisis suits suffered badly to JotWW, falling in holes with amusing regularity, while the survivors whooshed away in disarray. Again the rhino chassis tanks proved to be stupidly resilient, and 5 out of the 6 managed to survive the game. Scottys low-point had to be the turn when he opened fire with his entire army, and failed to wound, glance or penetrate a single model (17-3).
That gave me 53 battle points which was enough to win the event, and the very generous prizes. Many thanks to all my opponents who took their dice misfortunes with brave stoicism (while I cackled and pointed), and apologies to them for the state of my army. Thanks also to everyone involved with running Assault on Arkham, and I look forward to seeing you again at AGC (I'll definitely be back, I just have to decide what to buy with my sweet sweet voucher).
My list for anyone who's interested:
Rune Priest, Chooser of the Slain, JotWW, Living Lightning
Rune Priest, JotWW, Tempest's Wrath
3 Wolf Guard, 3 Combi-Melta, 3 Power Fist
8 Grey Hunters, Melta, Wolf Standard, Mark of the Wolfen, Rhino, Dozer Blade
8 Grey Hunters, Melta, Wolf Standard, Mark of the Wolfen, Rhino, Dozer Blade
5 Grey Hunters, Melta, Rhino, Dozer Blade
6 Long Fangs, 5 Missile Launchers, Razorback, Las/Plas, Dozer Blade
6 Long Fangs, 5 Missile Launchers, Razorback, Las/Plas, Dozer Blade

Congratulations on your win, J65. I know both Scott and Stuart personally, and I can imagine the games you had with them will have been great fun! I'm glad that it was Scott who had to face off against two Rune Priests with JOTWW and not *my* Tau!

Just wanted to say a HUGE thanks to all the guys who organised the event, i had a blast even though the Eldar didnt fare well
was my first tournament and i had a great time, the day ran really smoothly considering the late drop outs and all of the guys were a great craic and genuinely friendly bunch- made my first time a lot easier (insert virginity comment here...)
all in all a great day, well done everyone
