Kill Team - 40K
Ok as stated in the other thread I would like to get a 'for fun' 40k kill team campaign going.
This is as much as for me and anyone else not familiar with rules to get a good grip on them or for some others an excuse to maybe start with a new army, maybe those DE andy??
From my initial internet based search patterns I have come to conclusion that 200 points would be a good ref point for each player and that there are rules in the battle missions book(also read in quite a few places that there are better 'older' rules out there). But Im a 40k newb and happy to hear what you guys think.
Stick your name down on thread, if there is enough interest I will try and get things moving on, also put down your thoughts please guys on anything about it good or bad, points, forces, campaign type/no campaign, structure etc etc

It seems to be a kitbash of necromunda/mordheim/40k.
Cba looking through the rules on a netbook but some of their hobby section is awesome.

Re: Kill Team - 40K
Have had a good look at those rules andy, nice find. Think this could be the used as the 'generic' rule set we had talked about before for sci-fi skirmish combat, means i can use those 'alien hunters' i got a few weeks ago.
For anyone interested I can send them ruleset, i have it downloaded
for this kill team idea think it might be bit to complicated, it really means learning a new ruleset for the campaign which wasnt really the intention, i was more intent on using this as a platform for me and others to learn 40k rules and for others to get stuck into new force.

have been thinking about this, was just going to use standard 40k rules with the kill team mission, but different variations of it, different objectives etc.
But as 40k player would be glad to hear your opinions dude, im using this as a springboard to hopefully learn rules but will using simply this scenario and 40k rules make this unfair/lopsided to attacker or defender??
what do you think guys?

Re: Kill Team - 40K
Dont know enough about it tbh to know, will put together a force but at the moment it will be way at the bottom of my priorities! Although I do have some demons and deathguard I could touch up to be presentable in no time. O and some demonhunters already painted...actually things arent to bad.

Unless you want to keep it simply as squads fighting missions deathsquads is an awesome system with levelup and necromunda / mordheim type teams, know the guys from a mordheim forum and their all top guys at rules game mechanics sothe guys making it know their stuff so it gets my thumbs up.
:)
Re: Kill Team - 40K
I'd be up for it very easy for me to make 200 points up for about 4 different armies.

sounds like a plan dude, im down most wednesday nights if you want to get chatting about it
send me your email address and i will send over the deathsquads ruleset
im all for getting this going just need to get a proper ruleset in place and then come up with a good campaign story arc to keep people interested, still think chaos held world or chaos uprising, gives plenty of scope in terms of armies that can be tied in

Re: Kill Team - 40K
You don't really want to exclude any race so we could set it in a system with a few planets and when teams enter they or us could write up some fluff on why they are there then take it from there
So all we would really need to do is decide on the planet types any system hazards and system history fluff nothing to massive. Just keeps it simple but will become more indepth the more we play and the more teams enter

Or use a file hosting service.
I use Box.net http://www.box.net/home
Others swear by google docs. https://www.google.com/accounts/ServiceLogin?service=writely&passive=1209600&continue=http://docs.google.com/&followup=http://docs.google.com/<mpl=homepage
Or a direct link to the doc on the site;
http://www.box.net/shared/s8gq48dnkb (They use Box.net too.)
Saves some forum bandwidth, I remember a time when it mattered.

Re: Kill Team - 40K
Yeah daemons most welcome, initially was thinkin chaos effected world.
Would be nice to have an Ordo malleus inquisitor team as the arch enemy for the daemons and chaos

Re: Kill Team - 40K
Man those rules are awesome I think they fit nicely. So here's my entry
Decimation XII Black legion
One of twenty decimation units within the black legion these small but deadly forces seek out relics cause planetary unrest, acts of sabotage, assinations and act on any orders the great warmaster deems a nessesaty pre black crusade
Just the basics feel free to fluff it up

Re: Kill Team - 40K
Might be able to do the Inquisitor Ordo Xenos (not Malleus) set-up, as I have a Deathwatch unit and Inquisitor.
Otherwise I could do Necrons, Tau, Chaos Marines, Eldar, Codex Marines - Dark Angels, Space Wolves.

Xenos is good also Roger, as long as there is an inquisition presence planetside. There has been talk of an Eldar team searching for something that has drawn a team from Ordo Xenos to investigate
