Re: Kill Team - 40K
Cheers for the review guys. Twas a very close match. The fact that my Sons won through charging into close combat still has me dazed. Had a short chat with matt yesterday (him playing Khornes Zerkers) and decided that the forces of chaos should come to an arrangement to team up against the wussy forces of good. In the spirit of the thing we decided on a duel between our leaders, that way both forces wouldnt be oblitorated in the process.
It was a close thing but Ellion won the day.
Hence forth the Zerkers are under my command (this translates as any time my forces or matts need to field double points as some scenarios define, we will both show up instead of doubling our points but apart from that its just more fluff for the end game on wednesday, so Neil doesnt have to do much work thinking up plausable reasons for two enemies throwing aside their differences and having a hug).
Fluff for the Fluff God!

Re: Kill Team - 40K
With new fluff coming in thick and fast I'm assuming there were a few more games last night on Calaxian soil?
Jamie or Justin can we get quick run down of anything of note please
Also looks like it's going to be a fight between chaos and the rest (somehow adding necrons and nids lol)

'crons vs Xenos Kill Team - Win to the 'crons
'crons vs Sons - Win to the 'crons (just barely damn you Justin, best game ive played yet. 'crons were wiped out but won on points, more fluff on that to follow from yours truly )
and Sons vs Emperors Children - Win the Sons

necrons were very good against the genestealers.
they would have won had i not had a broodlord.
mainly cause they pop back up all the time

Justin how many points of Necrons can you gather?
Mike how many points of nids can you gather?
Jamie how many points of chaos between you and matt?
I'm thinking imperial v necrons and chaos v nids then see what form the final game will take, or leave it open ended?

Re: Kill Team - 40K
I can field -
10 warriors
3 immortals
Wraith
Pariah
360 points
But if I put a few killzone specials could be 400 or 500 easy

Re: Kill Team - 40K
I can do up to 600. But wouldn't want to do anymore than double. 2 broods of genestealers and a broodlord to lead each

That's cool guys, 400 points each will be enough.
You are both becoming to much of a threat to the planet

Re: Kill Team - 40K
So the final game of Calaxia happened last night, 4 player super smash and the necrons true to form ran away with it. But Justin did sneak in on turn 3 after the others had smashed each other! Your fluff better have a good reason for dropping in!
I thought the campaign went well guys if a little haphazard at times in terms of games getting played against each other
But any suggestions or constructive criticisms please put it in the thread, it's the only way it will be improved.

Re: Kill Team - 40K
I still maintain for this sort of caper you need to have a limited amount of armies (type not number) to stop the whole haphazard approach along side with a clear structure or objectives (eg hex bases battles between ig regiments with marines support vs the forces of chaos). Just makes it clearer and less muddy narrative wise.
But then again for a short story arc thats a lot of effort! It was fun anyway and a good intro to 40k gaming and it got everyone in the club chatting

Re: Kill Team - 40K
Big roundof applause for Neil for a great first kill team event. If the arenas are even close to being as much fun I wil be happy. As a tester it worked well we discovered what worked and what didn't. But if it achieved anything it got people chatting and has resuscitated 40k at arkham. So a great success! Cheers to Neil and everyone who entered!

Re: Kill Team - 40K
Agreement with all said and then some. Loved the kill team campaign, so many close matchs and an excellent excuse to get my creative muscle flexed. Ive got Justin and myselfs battle fluff to do then i think ill have to put a fairly epic ending in for the last one. That means ill have to get abit creative with everyones teams but im sure everybody is cool with that?

Re: Kill Team - 40K
Big kudos and thanks to Neil, really enjoyed the games i played and the Kill Team battles- apologies for not making it down last night, but in fairness im pretty sure iv been wiped out every game so there are only so many Eldar to go around...
I think Eldar suffer a bit in the rules, we really need to be in our tanks to succeed. Lack of Surviviability (except the one guardian who went 3 rounds with a genestealer and survived- thats some facy footwork!) and short ranged weaponry a good army does not make lol
anyway, well done to all and big high-5s to all the guys i played against or watched playing- was a very enjoyable and fun experience

Re: Kill Team - 40K
it was great fun.
final battle was a bit random.
Especially how a broodlord kills an entire team of space wolves then gets shot in the face by a necron.
More multi people games are need as it was far more exciting than 1v1.
